Kuala Lumpur, November 11, 2010—In its effort to ensure that graduates of the Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM) are well accepted in today’s industrial market, the Center for Industrial Relations & Commercialization (PHIP) of USIM recently took a proactive step by seeking cooperation with the Kuala Lumpur Malay Chamber of Commerce of Malaysia (DPMM-KL). A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Y.Bhg. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Muhamad Muda, the Vice Chancellor of USIM and Y.Bhg. Adjunct Prof. Dato’ Syed Amin Al Jefri, the President of DPMM-KL, regarding this. The MoU signed between the two parties aims at encouraging mutual cooperation in securing placement for USIM students who are undergoing industrial training so that they can additionally receive advice and guidance on entrepreneurship, carrying out industrial research, marketing, and finance. Furthermore, the MoU also includes cooperation with the DPMM-KL in training of academic staff and other USIM students in relevant fields. According to Adjunct Prof. Dato’ Syed Amin, the Kuala Lumpur Malay Chamber of Commerce readily welcomes close cooperation with institutions of higher learning. USIM is the first public institution of higher learning that is seeking cooperation with the DPMM-KL, he said, adding that they will do their utmost to help USIM students in terms of advice services, guidance, training, and finances. Prof. Dato’ Muhamad Muda also hoped that with this cooperation between the two parties, USIM students will be prepared with knowledge and experience that is so much needed in the professional and industrial world which they will step into after graduating. Witnessing the signing of the MoU were Prof. Dr. Abdul Jalil Abdul Kader, the Director of PHIP and En. Khazali Ibrahim, the Executive Director of the Kuala Lumpur Malay Chamber of Commerce of Malaysia (DPMM-KL). |
